Africa Operations (Botswana)
Power that Drives Africa’s Growth
Located in the Mmamabula region of Botswana, the project comprises a 700 MW base-load thermal power plant with an integrated coal mine designed to meet national energy needs and supply power across Southern Africa.
The first 350 MW phase will supply the Botswana Power Corporation, while the second 350 MW phase will expand capacity for regional exports.
Aligned with Botswana Vision 2036, the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and the African Union Agenda 2063, this project aims to transform Botswana into a key energy hub for Africa.

Reliability begins with responsible resource management. Jindal Power ensures energy self-reliance through integrated mining operations.
The company owns four commercial coal mines in India, Gare Palma IV/1, IV/2 & 3, Sector-1E, and Banai Bhalumunda, all strategically located near the Tamnar Power Complex in Chhattisgarh.
With a cumulative mining capacity of over 44 MTPA, supported by three coal washeries totalling 11.5 MTPA, the company possesses a robust and scalable mining infrastructure.
