Coal is the primary fuel for the generation of power and the Government
of India has allotted captive coal blocks IV/2 and IV/3 in Gare Palma
coal fields containing about 256 Million tons of geological reserves of
coal. The coal available in the blocks IV/2 and IV/3 has a weighted
average GCV of 3600 kcal/kg, average ash content of 39%, average
moisture content of 12% and average sulphur content of 0.5%. The lease
period for captive coal blocks is for 30 years. For startup and low load
